I have meniscus tears in both knees.   With this injury and getting older, I get so tight in my hips and knees.  When I first do squats, it is uncomfortable.  I start different standing positions first in small ranges as a warmup.  Once I am warmed up properly, I can take movements to fuller ranges.  I find standing work very important since the knee organizes differently in standing.

Balanced Body AMP: The Lower Body  Video and In-Person Course

The lower body is the center of strength, endurance, and functional movement. When misalignments or injuries in the hip, knee, ankle or foot are present, we lose ease, economy and efficiency. This course includes 18 hours of in-person instruction and 10 hours of video material. You will come away with a structured plan for assessing lower body alignment, myofascial balance and functional abilities and a clear understanding of exercise progressions to improve performance and minimize injuries.
