We are all prone to overuse injuries. My Pilates teaching career started at a physical therapy practice in 1990.  Majority of our clients were journalists suffering with Repetitive Stress Injuries due to overuse injuries on computers.  The typewriter offered some recovery time with having to send the carriage back and a bounce to the keys.  Since the journalists were sitting for long periods of time, pilates offered a full training of the body for better alignment and support.  By building up strengthen and flexibility was a road to recovery even when their injuries didn’t allow to use their arms in trauma.   Slowly we added exercises with arms when they were ready.

After over three decades of teaching pilates and pulling on springs, I am having some arm and hands problems.  Hand It to Me is a research that I have done with my teachers and studies of improving the function of my hands, wrists and forearms.
